The 2024 HLI Challenge
The HLI Challenge is a spirited competition among HOPE Leadership Institute cohorts to encourage alumnae investment in HOPE’s mission. Your support in the HLI Challenge directly fuels our work, empowering Latina high school and college students, as well as professional leaders, through our transformative leadership programs. By paying it forward, you’re helping to shape the next generation of bold, civically-minded Latinas who are driving change and creating more just and equitable communities nationwide!
The goal of the 2024 HLI alumnae fundraising challenge is to raise a grand total of $90,000 in support of HOPE’s work to advance the economic and political parity of Latinas. We are humbled, grateful and proud to count on the support of our dedicated alumnae.
How to Participate
Step 1: Make Your Donation!
You can choose to become a Friends or HOPE recurring member or make a one time donation (memberships range from $100 to $1000 annually). We encourage you to join at the Beacon of HOPE level (just $45 a month) to receive the best value for your benefits. If you’ve already made your donation for 2024, thank you! Your contribution is reflected in your class thermometer below.
Step 2: Track Your Class’ Progress!
Visit this page regularly and be sure to monitor where your class stands. The class that raises the most funds will take home the top prize, while the class with the highest participation rate will earn the second prize!
Step 3: Encourage your fellow class members to donate!
Share the excitement and encourage your classmates to donate! The more people who join in, the higher your class’s chances of winning!
You might notice that some classes start with a boost, and this is because their contributions are already at work! Donations made in 2024 are already helping your class thermometer rise and contribute to the overall HLI challenge fundraising goal. Let’s keep the momentum going!
Prizes & Benefits
Get ready for some friendly competition with a chance to win amazing prizes! There will be two winning classes:
- First Place: Awarded to the class that raises the most money.
- Second Place: Awarded to the class with the highest participation rate.
The winning classes will be celebrated with HOPE merch, social media shout-outs, and recognition during HOPE’s 35th Anniversary Awards Dinner on December 5, 2024.
Friends of HOPE Membership Benefits include tickets to our signature events in 2025 and the upcoming Anniversary Awards Dinner! Plus when you sign up for a recurring membership at the Beacon of HOPE level ($45 a month) you will receive a complimentary ticket to our 2025 Alumnae Leadership Summit.

You have until December 4, 2024, to join the HLI Challenge and make a difference! With $86,775 already raised by HLI Alumnae, we’re just $3,225 away from hitting our $90,000 goal!
